Governor Elect Lee Picks Texan To Head Dept Of Education

A Texan is headed to Tennessee to become Governor elect Bill Lee’s State Education Commissioner. Lee has picked Texas Education Agency Chief Deputy Commissioner of Academics, Penny Schwinn to head the Dept of Education. Lee praised Schwinn’s role in transforming the Texas Assessment Program. Tennessee’s assessment program has been an ongoing problem at the Dept of Education in Nashville.
