Ballad Busy Answering State Questions Concerning Consolidation Of Services

Ballad Health officials are attempting to explain its consolidation of neo natal intensive care services to Johnson City. Ballad wants to eliminate the NICU unit at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. The hospital is also proposing new pediatric emergency care at the Kingsport hospital as well as Bristol’s hospital. The state also requested answers concerning the transportation of newborn babies. Ballad says newborns are only transported once stabilized,and strict state guidelines are followed.
