Brightridge: Heavy Winds Causing Power Outages and Downed Trees in Washington County
Wednesday’s heavy winds are impacting Washington County, with scattered down trees and power outages.
Officials at Brightridge say heavily saturated soil and windy conditions have caused a large number of trees to fall near in area of Cherokee Road and University Parkway in Johnson City.
Additionally, the utility outage map shows nearly 2,000 customers have no power across the county, with more than half in the Cherokee University Parkway area.
Brightridge says all available crews and associate contractors have been deployed to assist in restoring power to the affected areas.
