KHRA Breaks Ground On Multi Million Dollar Renovation Project

Ground is broken for a 45 million dollar Kingsport Housing and Redevelopment Authority renovation project. Kingsport officials broke ground Tuesday as the first of five phases of renovation work on all of the city’s pubic housing units gets underway. The first part of the project is the complete renovation of Cloud Apartments. Those units were built in 1952. The housing authority will stagger construction so tenants can move into the sites where renovations have yet to begin. The first phase of renovation for Cloud Apartments is expected to take two years to complete.
