Proposed Higher Penalties For Passing Stopped School Bus In Tennessee
A bill in the Tennessee Legislature would increase penalties for those who pass a stopped school bus. Currently when drivers are stopped for passing a stopped school bus in Tennessee they could be charged with a misdemeanor and a fine of up to one thousand dollars. If the bill is approved it would be a tiered system and would have certain penalties for each offense. The bill was introduced last week and would bring up to felony charges for passing a stopped school bus.
