Kingsport Church To Open 24 Hours As Warming Shelter During Extreme Cold Snap

Forecasted sub freezing temperatures in the region has prompted a Kingsport church to open its doors 24 hours a day as a warming shelter for the homeless. Beginning Tuesday, Shades of Grace Church in Kingsport will continue its mission to provide the homeless with a warm place to shelter. Temperatures are expected to not reach above 20 Wednesday and between zero and five degrees Wednesday night. The church is organizing adequate staffing to handle the anticipated increase in numbers of people affected by the freezing temperatures.
