Sullivan County Commissioners Struggling To Approve Operating Budget For Next Year

It appears a clear majority of Sullivan County Commissioners are in favor of next years proposed operating budget, but that clear majority is nowhere to be found when it comes to the commissioners agreeing on how to pay for the spending document. As we told you earlier this week, commissioners met yet again but failed to approve the budget which calls for a tax increase to fund additional school resource officers and 20 additional officers at the Sullivan County jail. But so far, vote after vote, commissioners have failed to approve the budget. Now time is running out and commissioners have until August to come up with a plan,or the state could withhold funds from the county.
