Court documents: Trio pleads guilty to federal charges in Virginia Medicaid scheme

Three individuals involved in a Virginia Medicaid scheme in Washington County pleaded guilty Monday in US District Court in Abingdon. Michele Annette Honaker, Marilyn Blankenship and Chandler Blankenship were originally charged in a 38-count indictment in January after federal investigators accused the trio of falsifying documents related to care, training and other aspects of treatment that resulted in the suspects being paid more than $440,000 in Medicaid funds. They are scheduled to be sentenced on October 18.
