Matthew Hill One Of Six Looking To Nashville On Wednesday

Jonesborough Republican State Represenative Matthew Hill will be one of six lawmakers who will turn their attention to Nashville as the House Republican Caucus meets Wednesday to choose a replacement for embattled and soon to be ex House Speaker Glen Casada. Hill, along with five others are vying for the seat that Casada will resign from next month. Hill served as deputy speaker in the House under Casada. Wednesday’s meeting will be followed up by a special session of the Legislature to elect the next Speaker of the House on August 23.
