Felon Shoots Female Victim While Riding In Vehicle

A convicted felon is in even more trouble this morning after shooting a female victim in the back while they were traveling in a vehicle on Memorial Boulevard near Kingsport. Police arrested 36 year old Matthew Paul Schneider of Keeland Drive in Johnson City. Deputies were called to Indian Path Hospital around two o’clock Tuesday morning to investigate statements made by a twenty six year old female victim who had been shot in the back. The victim knew Schneider only by his first name and said the two had been at a friend’s apartment prior to the shooting. Schneider was arrested following a photo lineup. The shooting victim is in stable condition. Schneider is being held in the Sullivan County Detention Center.
