Police say Marion man stole NC resident’s ID, created bogus PayPal account

A Smyth County, Virginia man will be extradited to North Carolina after police there said he stole a person’s identity and racked-up thousands of dollars in purchases.

According to court documents, Lucas Dakota Taylor, 26, of Marion, is charged with identity theft after an investigation revealed he gathered personal information from a Alamance County resident and created a PayPal account that was used to make more than $11,000 in purchases.
