Several SW Virginia tourism projects receive grant funding

A number of organizations and localities in Southwest Virginia will share in over $965,000 in grant money awarded by state tourism officials.

The dollars are distributed with a local match requirement and they are targeting to boost visitation to the Commonwealth. The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance is among the recipients with a $50,000 grant to be used for the marketing of the upcoming Ken Burns ‘Country Music’ documentary.
