Court documents: Plea agreement offered to SW Virginia pipe bomb suspect
A plea agreement is being offered in federal court in Abingdon for a Southwest Virginia man who FBI agents said had a live pipe bomb inside his home.
Louis MacDowell of Tazewell County was arrested in March 2018 on explosive and gun charges. Officers also found drugs and materials used to make bombs during the search. The proposed agreement that needs a judge’s approval would have MacDowell placed on supervised release for three years along with prescribed mental health and substance abuse counseling.
