UPDATE: First death of Virginia patient attributed to ‘vaping’ confirmed
The first death attributed to lung injury from e-cigarettes or vaping has been confirmed in the state of Virginia, according to a report from the Department of Health.
The patient was from Southwest Virginia and died on Sept. 26 while being treated at a medical center in North Carolina. The agency has recorded 31 lung cases in the state while the CDC has confirmed 805 cases in 46 states.
