During a special workshop Tuesday night, commissioners were informed of financial risks related to the proposal, as well proposed lease agreement information. Some proposed lease agreements discussed with financial representatives with Washington County includes:
20 year agreement at 3%, equaling a yearly cost of $2,362,800 per year
25 year agreement at 3%, equaling a yearly cost of $1,820,000 per year

Recently, Johnson City Schools launched a separate proposal of its own for a $30 million dollar school. During the nearly two hour meeting, commissioners raised a variety of questions and concerns pertaining to both proposals. One additional item brought up was if a property tax increase would be required if the commission were to also move forward with the Johnson City school proposal. Washington County has until October 10th to come up with a lease agreement that would go for consideration at the full county commission meeting scheduled for October 17th.
