UPDATE: Tennessee health official classify vaping lung illness as ‘immediate public health concern’
The Tennessee Department of Health is now calling vaping-related lung injuries an immediate public health concern after the number of patients being treated has ballooned from six last month to 49 cases.
The agency confirms that no certain product or substance has been pinpointed as the exact source that has caused nearly 1,300 cases in 49 states and the deaths of 26 people, according to the CDC. The federal health group is also warning users of the risk of vaping products containing cannabanoid or THC elements—a potential link in the vape crisis.
