KPD Launches Investigation into Possible Shooting Incident after Injured victim Approaches Officers at unrelated scene

The Kingsport Police Department is investigating a possible shooting that occurred Thursday evening.

The department says officers were working a different situation around 7:30 p.m near the intersection of East Stone Drive at New Beason Well Road, when an individual approached them, who was reportedly injured from a gunshot wound. That person was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Details as to when and where the shooting occurred are unknown, and no further information is being released at this time.
