UPDATE: Tennessee health officials confirm first ‘vaping related’ death
The Tennesssee Department of Health has recorded its first death from a lung injury illness that they have connected with e-cigarette use or vaping.
The sickness has claimed 26 lives this year and the agency has confirmed 53 cases in the Volunteer state while the CDC says more than 1,300 Americans are being treated.
The Tennessee Medical Association has sent a directive to Gov. Bill Lee asking for a temporary order banning juveniles from buying and using vaping products. They also want the General Assembly to tackle the issue next year to reach a permanent solution.
