Southwest Virginia…Home To States First Hemp Processing Facility
The State of Virginia’s first commercial Hemp fiber processing facility is locating in southwest Virginia. Wythe County is now the home of Vitality Farms, operating as Appalachian Biomass Processing. The company will invest almost 900 thousand dollars, and hire thirteen employees to handle more than six thousand tons of Virginia grown industrial hemp over the next three years. Governor Northam signed legislation back in March legalizing the commercial growing and processing of industrial hemp.
