High customer traffic causing changes at Tennessee driver service centers

Changes are coming across Tennessee at select drivers service centers due to demand for the new REAL ID.

A report from the Department of Safety and Homeland Security says additional personnel is being hired and mobile processing centers are being called in to help with additional customer volumes. REAL ID cards must be possessed by residents who want to enter federal buildings or board commercial aircraft in the US beginning in October 2020. The agency also anticipates high customer demand starting in January due to changes in the issuance of concealed handgun permits.
