Incumbent Sheriffs In Southwest Virginia Hard Hit In Election
Unofficial results are revealing three southwest Virginia Incumbent Sheriffs were defeated in Tuesday’s elections. Jeff Edds defeated Incumbent Scott County Sheriff Chris Holder by receiving just over sixty two percent of the vote. Meanwhile, in Buchanan County, long time incumbent sheriff Ray Foster was defeated by challenger John C. McClanahan in a close race winning by just sixty two votes. And in Dickenson County Virginia Incumbent Sheriff Scott Stanley was defeated by Jeremy Fleming. And in Wise County there is a new sheriff as Grant Kilgore defeats two other candidates. Kilgore will replace Sheriff Ronnie Oaks who is retiring.
