UPDATE: Suspect in Johnson City assault apprehended, charged with attempted murder

A Kingsport man was arrested Friday evening and charged with attempted first-degree murder for a violent attack on a woman in a Johnson City trailer park.

Police said Dominque Fleming, 25, was apprehended at a home in Rogersville with the assistance of US Marshals. Investigators said Fleming injured a female victim on Sunday at a home in the 200 block of Big Valley Road leaving her with a severe head injury. The assault also resulted in the woman losing her unborn child. She remains in critical condition.

Fleming is being held on a $500,000 bond.
