Pedestrian bridge in Abingdon closed due to damages from November accident
A pedestrian bridge in Abingdon, Virginia has been closed until further notice.
According to a press release from the Abingdon Police Department, a motor vehicle accident on November 24th damaged stairs at a bridge at the intersection of Remsburg Drive and Wall Street that crosses over Norfolk Southern train tracks.
The town says it will be evaluating the condition of the bridge and intends to reconstruct the steps as time and funding allow.
