Kingsport Police launches investigation into fatal Christmas Eve crash on I-26

Kingsport Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred on Interstate 26 Christmas Eve.

The department says a 1996 beige Lincoln four dour sedan, driven by Orval Quisenberry, 98, was traveling west in the eastbound lane on Interstate 26 close to the Meadowview Parkway exit, when he collided with a 2004 Ford Expedition driven by a 16-year old female from Kingsport.

Quisenberry was killed in the crash, and the juvenile was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
