Nine Die So Far On Virginia Highways This Holiday Period

Nine people have died so far on Virginia roadways since the extended holiday travel period began last Saturday. Six reported crashes all occurred outside of southwest Virginia. However, with increased traffic volumes on Virginia roadways anticipated for the remainder of the week and throughout the weekend, Virginia State Police is encouraging all drivers to increase their attention to safe driving. So far this year, 800 people have lost their lives on Virginia roadways.
