More Than 286 Million Dollars For Flood Proofing Heading To Southwest Virginia
Two Southwest Virginia counties are receiving a total of 286 million dollars to help reduce flood risks in those areas. Buchanan County is receiving just over 235 million dollars and Dickenson County will obtain another 51 million dollars to help fund and complete U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, long term floodproofing projects. With the completion, communities in these jurisdictions will be better protected from the ravages of extreme weather. The announcement was made by Ninth District U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith.
