UPDATE: Carter County man to report to jail next month for vehicular homicide
A Butler man entered a guilty plea to a vehicular homicide charge that was overturned by the Tennessee Court of Appeals last February.
Jerry Oaks, 37, will receive credit for time served and a judge has ordered him to report to the Carter County Jail on February 14, according to court documents. An appeals judge wrote that the trial court in 2017 made an error in denying a motion to suppress a warrantless blood draw taken following the fatal Highway 362 crash that killed Roan Mountain resident Viencen Hitecheew.
