Kingsport Leaders Discuss Budget And Other City Initiatives

Based on current projections, the City of Kingsport is expecting to come in about one percent over its anticipated 82 million dollar general fund budget for 2020. City leaders recently met to discuss highlights of the budget, updates on the financial outlook and current efforts in economic development. Among the other highlights include, Kingsport’s renewed efforts to partner with a company that specializes in bringing in new retailers, that data suggests will be successful in the Model City. The Kingsport Board of Mayor and Alderman met recently to discuss these issues during a strategic planning session.
