Police release name of victim found dead in Carter County field

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man found dead in a field in the Siam community.

The body of Joseph Lee Miller, 37, was discovered just after 1 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of Ralph Vanhuss Road with no visible of injury, according to investigators.

A preliminary report says Miller was involved in a motor vehicle crash and his car was discovered off Charity Hill Road. Police said it appears Miller left the scene of the crash and walked to the field where he was found dead.
