NEW: Tennessee health officials confirm state’s first case of coronavirus
Governor Bill Lee and officials with the Department of Health have confirmed Tennessee’s first case of the coronavirus.
The patient, a 44-year-old male resident of Williamson County, is currently quarantined at their home and reported his illness shortly after returning from a trip out of state, according to agency information.
The governor said that the public needs to keep things in perspective in relation to COVID-19 and that the state remains as a low-risk area. The Centers for Disease Control reports 129 cases and 9 deaths in the US.
