TVA to provide incentive to schools and businesses for installation of UV-C light technology in hopes of combating COVID-19
The Tennessee Valley Authority says it will provide incentives to businesses and schools who install UV-C lights that can remove viruses like COVID-19.
The UV-C light is a shortwave ultraviolet light used worldwide in disinfecting air in hospitals and labs. Studies show the light is 99.9% lethal to bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and the TVA says this technology is ideal for use in schools and businesses as the coronavirus pandemic continues. TVA EnergyRight manager Jason Snyder says a TVA Preferred Network partner can install this technology, and customers who uses TVA’s network can receive a $30 per ton incentive towards adopting the UV light to combat the virus.
