UPDATE: Carrico launches political action committee following talk of potential run for governor
Former Southwest Virginia state senator Bill Carrico has launched a political action committee as he continues to weigh a run for governor.
The retired Virginia State Trooper announced last month he felt a calling to make a run for the Governor’s Mansion in Richmond following a tumultuous General Assembly session that he said lacked leadership.
Carrico wrote that the PAC organization will aid in such issues as gun ownership, police protection, and helping the economy in the face of the pandemic. He said he anticipates giving a definitive answer to a gubernatorial campaign in either September or October.
