Kentucky driver killed in Thursday night crash in Chilhowie
A Kentucky driver is dead following a crash in Chilhowie on Interstate 81 Thursday night.
The Virginia State Police said Leroy Wayne, 57, of Raywick, KY, was ejected from the van he was driving and pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck that occurred at 7:30 p.m.
A preliminary report says Wayne lost control of his vehicle near Exit 35. The van went off the side of the road then crossed the median into northbound traffic where it struck a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the rig suffered minor injuries.
