Second Round Of Covid Testing Underway At Smyth County Sheriff’s Department

In an update to a story we told you about last week, Smyth County Sheriff Chip Shuler says his department is starting a second round of COVID-19 testing on employees after eight of the departments employees tested positive the the virus lat week. Shuler says so far everyone has tested negative and he expects the department will be back in full swing by August 14. Shuler says one captain, one patrol deputy, four bailiffs, and two support workers tested positive. That situation shut down the Smyth County Courthouse until Monday
