Elizabethton Police investigating hit and run of pedestrian on Broad St.
Police in Elizabethton are investigating a hit and run of a pedestrian that left a victim seriously injured Thursday.
Officers were called to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Broad Street near Hardee’s. They found a male, later identified as Casey Oaks, lying in the roadway. Oaks suffered serious injuries from the collision and was reportedly attempting to cross Broad Street when he was struck by a vehicle in the center turn lane. Witnesses say the car, described as a black Toyota Rav4, fled the scene heading westbound on West Elk Avenue.
Police searched the area extensively but could not find the car. Oaks was taken to the hospital for his injuries and his condition is unknown at this time.
Charges are pending and the investigation remains ongoing.
