General Lee Bust, And Other Monuments Removed From Richmond Capitol Building
A moving crew in Richmond Virginia, in the dark of night, has removed the busts and a statue honoring confederate generals and officials. The moving crew worked through Thursday night, to avoid possible protests or lawsuits to keep the monuments in place. A statue of Lee and busts of General J.E.B. Stuart, Stonewall Jackson, Confederate President Jefferson Davis as well as others were quietly taken from the state capitol building after weeks of controversy over the decision to remove the historical monuments. The monuments were loaded into a truck and taken to an undisclosed location.
