TWRA investigating Friday evening drowning on Watauga Lake
(Update Monday morning) The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency has released the identity of the individual who drowned on Watauga Lake on Friday evening. An update from the agency says Eric Jordan, 52, of North Carolina, died in the incident.

Officers with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency are investigating the circumstances surrounding a drowning that happened Friday evening at Watauga Lake.
A news release from the agency says last night around 7:30 p.m, a middle aged man entered the water from a boat that was near the area of Big Island and Watauga Point. When entering the water, the release said the man began to struggle, and a witness from a nearby houseboat entered the water to pull the man out of the water, onto the witness’s boat. The TWRA says CPR was administered but was unsuccessful.
The victim was transported to Fish Springs Marina, where the Carter County Rescue Squad then took the victim’s body to the Quillen College of Medicine for identification and an autopsy.
The incident remains under investigation.
