JCPD: Male passenger allegedly fired multiple shots into the air from car during road rage incident on I-26
A Jonesborough man was jailed after police say he fired a gun into the air on Interstate 26 in the midst of an alleged road rage incident.
Johnson City Police say around 6:00 p.m Monday, dispatch received a call from a female driver that alleged a male passenger in a Chevy Trailblazer had fired a gun in her direction in the area of I-26 near mile marker 19. Police pulled the car over, and an investigation found suspect Jacob Adams, 24, had fired three or four shots in the air, while his fiance and infant child were also in the car.
Marijuana and a glass pipe were also found on Adams. He was arrested on charges including two counts of reckless endangerment and simple possession. He is being held on a $40,000 bond and will appear in court this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
