UPDATE: Lee County man sent to prison for 60-plus years for ‘vile’ child sex charges

A Pennington Gap man that a prosecutor called vile and a sexual predator will spend more than 60 years in prison.

Jared William Stanley was sentenced Wednesday in Wise County after pleading no contest earlier this year to more than 90 felonies including possession of child porn.

Evidence presented by Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Slemp showed officers who went to Stanley’s motel room in 2018 discovered various baby items like dolls, pacifiers, and bottles that Stanley said he used in his fantasies.

Slemp also said Stanley, 28, would make deals with some Southwest Virginia residents who traded illicit photos of their children for drugs.
