NEW: SEC school presidents vote for 10-game in-conference football season with Sept. 26 start date
Presidents of Southeastern Conference schools on Thursday finalized a 10-game football schedule to condense the 2020 campaign due to the COVID crisis.
Kickoff is scheduled for Sept. 26 and the SEC Championship game in Atlanta will be played two weeks later than normal on Dec. 19.
University of Tennessee Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer issued a statement describing the Vols’ effort to determine what crowd capacity will be once games begin at Neyland Stadium and noted the number of fans allowed in could vary on a weekly basis.
Excited to be making progress toward competition.
I ask for your continued patience as we set out to tackle the next batch of logistical unknowns.
