State Police report two deaths in separate crashes in Dickenson, Scott counties

The Virginia State Police are investigating two fatal crashes that took place Thursday afternoon.

One crash occurred on Route 80 in Dickenson County, according to a VSP statement. The driver of the vehicle overcorrected causing them to lose control of the vehicle which then overturned just before 1:30 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger was treated for minor injuries.

The second fatality was recorded in Scott County. The wreck involved a pickup truck and tractor-trailer both traveling northbound on Route 23 just outside of Duffield that happened just after 12:30 p.m.
