US DOL Report 7/25/2020: 65,985 new unemployment claims filed last week in TN and VA
Nearly 66,000 more first time unemployment claims were filed last week in Tennessee and Virginia.
The US Dept. of Labor’s weekly jobless claims report says 19,461 people in TN filed for first time claims for the week ending July 25, just over 6,000 less claims than the prior week. Northeast TN saw 1,221 new unemployment claims, while 13,228 claims were continued. In Virginia, the department of labor reported 46,524 Commonwealth residents filed for first time claims, a gain of almost 9,000 from the last reporting week.

VA- 46,524 (37,964 the week prior, 8,578 more)

Unicoi County- 23 new claims, 405 continued claims
