NEW: Johnson Co., extends its mask mandate to Aug. 29

Johnson County Mayor Mike Taylor has extended the locality’s mask mandate to Aug. 29.

Mayor Taylor issued a new executive order on Monday, which allows the requiring of face coverings in Johnson County to continue. The original order was issued on July 21 and was set to expire tonight at midnight.

Taylor also issued a public notice that the county courthouse will be closed from 5 p.m. Monday until Wednesday for cleaning and sanitizing the building.
