Two Northeast TN school systems starting 2020-21 year online
A pair of school systems in Northeast TN started their 2020-21 academic year on Monday much like schools ended the previous year.
Washington County, TN Schools are starting back in an online format and will stay remote for at least 30 calendar days due to a high rate of COVID-19 transmission in the county. School officials say the infection rate will be watched closely over that time period, and any necessary changes will be made in coordination with regional health officials.
University School is also starting its academic year in a fully remote format, which will run through the end of the system’s first quarter on Sept. 18.
