VSP: Bluff City man charged in fatal Russell County crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday afternoon in Russell County.

State police say the accident happened in the area of Route 19 and Business Route 19 just before 5:00 p.m. A 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 truck traveling south failed to stop at a red light, traveled into an intersection and struck a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek traveling in the intersection in its side.

The driver of the Subaru, Susan Stiltner, 43, of Rosedale, VA, died at the scene, while Marvin Scalf, 70, of Bluff City, TN was not injured.

He is facing charges of reckless driving, and the crash remains under investigation.
