Tennessee Governor Bill Lee points to child abuse in an unstable home as one reason for reopening schools despite the rising number of cases of COVID-19. Child abuse in Tennessee has dropped twenty five percent since children left school in the spring.Lee also said many students receive other services at school, like mental health assistance, that they would normally not get if they were at home instead of school.
