JCPD: Man allegedly set fire to two porches Wednesday night
A Johnson City man is in jail after police say he intentionally set fire to two porches in an hour on Wednesday night.
Johnson City Police report they were called to an intentional fire at a home on Pardee St. around 11:00 p.m. The homeowner recognized the alleged suspect as Christopher Mullins, 34, an estranged family member.
Another fire to a porch was reportedly set by Mullins an hour later at a home on Regency Sq. Witnesses say Mullins was in the area when the second fire happened, and police believe the incidents were retaliation by Mullins in a domestic dispute with his estranged wife.
He is charged with two counts of aggravated arson, and is being held on a $50,000 bond. He is due in court Friday at 10:30.
