KCS: Teacher at George Washington Elementary tests positive for COVID-19

Officials with Kingsport City Schools say a teacher at George Washington Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.

In an email to Supertalk, Assistant Superintendent Andy True said the Sullivan County Health Department notified the system of the positive coronavirus case. According to True, contact tracing is being conducted through the help of the school district supervisor and the health department. School custodial staff are deep cleaning the affected areas, and families are being notified.

Kingsport City Schools start the year next Monday, in a virtual format.
