NEW: Falwell, Jr. ordered by Liberty University board to take leave of absence
A questionable photo has landed Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. off campus indefinitely.
A statement issued by the conservative Lynchburg school said the Liberty Board of Directors requested Falwell to take a leave of absence which he accepted.
The development comes after an Instagram post last week from Falwell’s account that pictured him with his arm around a young woman and both of them had their pants unbuttoned.
In an interview with talk station WLNI, Falwell said the woman is his wife’s assistant and he was embarrassed by the post.
