UPDATE: Russell County Schools move first day to Sept. 8
The Russell County, Virginia School Board has moved their first day of instruction to Tuesday, September 8 due to delays connected with the COVID pandemic.
A report published by the system said the adjustment to the school calendar was made to coincide with continued exterior wall construction at Lebanon Middle School along with extending the time to receive necessary materials.
The board has several options on the table for learning in the fall including a proposed hybrid schedule or distance learning.
Teachers will begin their work schedule on Aug. 26.
